George Carlin Talks Politics
George Carlin says “They call it the American Dream… because you’d have to be asleep to believe it. It’s A BIG Club & You Ain’t In It. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people”.
George Carlin talks about Politicians; Garbage in… Garbage out!
The Illusion of choice
The Illusion of choice is about how we have freedom of choice, you know, we have freedom of choice. Uh very limited. If it’s an important thing, limited choice, two political parties, big media companies, five, six, oil companies down to three now, I think overall three or four. Banks, the big banks, the big brokerage houses, the big accounting firms, all the things that are important reduced in choice.
Newspapers in a city, how many? Used to be three, four, now it’s one or two that owned by the same people and they also own a radio station and a TV station. But jelly beans, 32 flavors, ice cream, all the things that don’t matter. Unimportant things, a lot of choices. And you know what I say? You your choice. You know what your freedom of choice is in America? Paper or plastic. That’s it, man. It comes down to paper or plastic. Cash or charge, aisle or window. You get to do what they really want. They do what they want. The ones who own this country, they do what they want.
Rights versus privileges
American citizens needed their rights the most. Their government took them away. And rights aren’t rights if someone can take them away. They’re privileges. That’s all we’ve ever had in this country is a bill of temporary privileges. And if you read the news, even badly, you know that every year the list gets shorter and shorter and shorter. Americans have been bought off
and silenced by toys and gizmos. And no one learns to question things. Bullshit is the glue that binds us as a nation. It’s like the strong nuclear force in an atom. And I have all this stuff. And the last part is all about God bless America, proud to be an American, swearing on the Bible, taking off your hat when a flag passes by and rights. Everybody thinks they have rights. And I tell them why they don’t have any rights. Because your rights can disappear when they So they’re not rights. They’re privileges. Like staying up late to watch television on a school night. You have a bill of privileges, not a bill of rights. A bill of temporary privileges.
You have big companies, big pharmaceuticals, big oil, big prochemical, big insurance, big real estate, big business. All these people’s feedings and they don’t give a damn about borders anymore. It’s all international. It’s multinational.
